Subject: Tropical Storm TALIM

At 4.00 p.m. on 18 July, severe tropical storm TALIM over Guangxi Zhuang, China or latitude 22.4 degrees north, longitude 106.9 degrees east. With sustained wind of about 65 km/hr, it moves west-northwest at a speed of 20 km/hr. By tonight, it is forecast to pass the upper Vietnam, then decline to a depression, and a low pressure cell, respectively.
From 18 to 20 July, the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and and the Gulf of Thailand with heavy to very heavy rains across the country. People should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, epecially along waterways and lowlands and take more caution in thundershowers.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua
Lamphu, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Chaiyaphum,
Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
East: Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

The strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand 2-3 meters high and thundershowers more than 3 meters. In the lower Gulf, waves are about 2 meters high and thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, ships keep ashore.
