Subject: Active Low-Pressure Cell

No. 13 (260/2023)

The active low-pressure cell is weakened and covers western part of the North while the monsoon trough lies across upper Thailand. Scattered heavy rains, as well as some very heavy rains, are forecast in the North, the Northeast, Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East, and the South regions during 28–29 September 2023. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All transport takes more caution.

Affected areas are as followings:                                                                            

28 September 2023

North:         Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast:   Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen,
and Nakhon Ratchasima.

Central:      Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon including Bangkok and its vicinity.

East:           Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.

South:         Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ranong and Phang Nga.

29 September 2023

North:         Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast:   Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu and Chaiyaphum.

Central:      Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.

East:           Chanthaburi and Trat.

South:   Ranong.

From 28 to 29 September, the rather southwesterly wind prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand. The waves in the upper Andaman Sea are 2-3 meters high and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, waves are about 2 meters high and more than 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
