Subject: Cool to cold in Upper Thailand
Heavy to very heavy rains in the South and Strong wind-waves in the Gulf
No. 10 (296/2023)
The strong high-pressure system covers Thailand. Cool to cold weather with strong wind are likely in the North and the Northeast while morning cool is likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South. People in Thailand should keep healthy and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South. People in the lower South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 19 November 2023
South: Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Satun.
The rather strong wind forces the wave in the Gulf up to 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while about 1 meter high in the Andaman Sea, 1-2 meters high offshore, and above 2 meters in thundershowers. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the Gulf keep ashore lasting today (19 November 2023).
