Weather Advisory
Subject: Cold in Upper Thailand and Strong Wind-Waves in Gulf
No. 10 (20/2023)
From 18 to 19 January, the rather strong high-pressure system from China covers Thailand with cool to cold in the morning and strong winds. The temperature will decrease by 1-3 degrees Celsius in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions. People should keep healthy and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand, the South and the Andaman Sea is strengthening. The rather strong wind forces the waves up to 2-3 meters high in the lower Gulf, in thundershowers above 3 meters high and about 2 meters high in the upper Gulf, in thundershowers above 2 meters high. Residents along the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surges. All ship in the Gulf, keep off thundershowers and small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore. Please stay tuned for the weather update.
The advisory is in effect on 18 January 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be at 18 January 2023, at 5.00 p.m.
