Subject: Variable winds with the strong wind and waves over the lower Gulf
No.6 (28/2024)
The rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to the Northeast and will cover the upper Thailand by today (10 February 2024). Meanwhile, the southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over the lower Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South regions. Isolated thundershowers, strong wind and hail is likely in the upper country on 10 February 2024 with 3-5 °C drop in temperature with strong wind in the Northeast while 1-3 °C drop in temperature in the rest regions. People in the upper country and the upper South should beware of the severe condition, gusty winds, hail and strikes by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent for crop damage. People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 10 February 2024
North: Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphanburi, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Chachoengsao, Nakhon Nayok, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
During 10–13 February 2024, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is strengthening with more rains and isolated heavy rains in the upper South. The moderate wind forces the wave in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers, the wave in the upper Gulf up to about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore. People along the Gulf should beware of inshore surges.
