Subject: Variable Weather in upper Thailand

No.10 (10/2024)

The westerly trough covers the upper North of Thailand and upper Laos with thunderstorm, gusty winds and hails in some areas are expected in the North. People in the North should beware of the severe condition by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage. Meanwhile, the moderate high-pressure system from China remains to cover the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea with morning cool are likely in the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the upper South region. People in the country should keep healthy due to changing weather conditions.

Affected areas are as followings:

On 16 January 2024

North:            Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan,
   Phrae and Tak.

            The advisory is in effect on 16 January 2024, at 5.00 a.m.

            This next issue will be on 16 January 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
