The westerly trough covers the North with thunderstorms, gusty winds and isolated hail, as well as lighting strikes. It will then follow by a decrease in temperatures by 2-4 degrees Celsius. People in the upper country should beware of the severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and keep healthy due to the variable weather.
Affected areas are as followings:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun.
The rather strong northeasterly winds prevails over the Gulf of Thailand, the South and the Andaman Sea with thundershowers in the South. The rather strong wind forces the waves up to 2-3 meters high in the lower Gulf and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea proceed with caution, and small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore lasting 17 February 2023.
