Subject: Variable Weather in
upper Thailand
No.2 (2/2024)

During
13–16 January 2024, another rather moderate high-pressure system from China
will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea while the westerly trough
will move pass the upper Thailand caused Thunderstorm with gusty winds and
hails will be likely in the North, the upper Northeast and the upper Central in
the first period after that temperature will decrease and strong wind. A
decrease in temperature by 1-3 °C is likely in the North and the Northeast
while slightly decrease in temperature is likely in the Central including
Bangkok and its vicinity and the East region. People in the upper country should beware
of the severe condition by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured
billboards. Farmers should prevent for crop damage.

On 13 - 14 January 2024
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan,
Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai,
Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan,
Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat,
Kanchanaburi, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong.
On 15 - 16 January 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang,
Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit,
Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei.
Central: Kanchanaburi.
The advisory is in effect on 12 January 2023, at 5.00 a.m.
