Subject: Variable weather over the upper Thailand
No.9 (221/2024)
The moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to the North and the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea while the monsoon trough will lie across the North, the lower Northeast, the Central and the East regions. Variable weather, thundershowers, gusty winds and isolated heavy rains are likely in the upper country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North and the Northeast, after that a decrease in temperature by 2--4 °C with strong wind are likely in the Northeast. People in upper Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and keep healthy due to the changeable weather.
Affected areas are as followings:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lamphu, Loei, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong,
Lopburi, Saraburi, Suphanburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi,
Ratchaburi,
Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, including
Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
3 October 2024
North: Mae Hong Son and Tak.
Central: Uthai Thani, Chainat, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.
In addition, typhoon “KRATHON”
is expected to move pass Taiwan, China with no effect on Thailand’s weather.
The advisory is in effect on 2 October 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be on 2 October 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
