Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 3 (81/2024)
During 3-5 May 2024, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move pass the upper North and the upper Northeast while during 6–7 May 2024, the confluence of southeasterly and southerly winds prevail over the Northeast, the East, the Central and the lower North regions while hot to very hot weather occurs in the upper country. Outbreak of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike in the upper country. People in the upper country should stay safe from severe weather conditions by keeping off outdoor places, large trees, and unsecured buildings. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and animals’ danger.
Affected areas are as followings:
During 3–4 May 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua
Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon
Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi
Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon
Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani and Kanchanaburi.
During 5–6 May 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai,

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its victicity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
The advisory is in effect on 2 May 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
