The active low pressure downgraded from the tropical depression “SONCA” covers the Northeast. It is expected to dissipate by today (28 July 2017). Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely over country. People should beware of severe weather conditions that cause possible flash floods. Details of affected areas are as below: On 28 July North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun. The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the South. Thundershowers with isolated heavy rain is likely in the south. The strong winds waves are likely 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore until 29 July.
