03 July 2026 - 09 July 2026The monsoon trough lay across the northern and upper northeastern of Thailand, extending toward the tropical storm “MAYSAK (2610)” at the beginning of the period. After that, the monsoon trough shifted northward to lie across Myanmar, Laos and upper Vietnam on 5 July. Additionally, the moderate to rather strong southwest monsoon prevailed over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand throughout the period. Morever, the low-pressure cell covered upper Vietnam in the second haif of the period. These conditions caused plentiful rainfall over upper Thailand almost the period. In southern region, rainfall was observed maily along the west coast.
A tropical storm “MAYSAK (2610)” over the upper South China Sea moved across Hainan Island into the Gulf of Tonkin before making landfall in Quang Ninh, Vietnam at 01:00 a.m. on 5 July. The storm then moved further inland toward Nanning, Guangxi, China and weakened into a tropical depression at 01:00 a.m. on 6 July, before degenerating into an active low-pressure cell over southern China.

Flooding was reported in Chanthaburi province on 3 Jul. and Trat province on 4 Jul. Flash flood was reported in Chanthaburi province on 4 Jul.
