General Situation
30 August 2025The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening while the monsoon through lies across the North and the upper Norhtheast. At the same time, tropical storm NONGFA covers upper Vietnam. Isolated heavy rains are likely in the East and the South regions while isolated very heavy rains with strong wind are possible in the Northeast and the eastern part of the North regions. People in thease areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore and people along the coast of the East and the upper South west coast should beware of storm surge during 30 August - 2 September. In addition, tropical storm “NONGFA” made landfall over Ha Tinh, Vietnam, is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and will move to upper Laos after that it is forecast to downgrade to an active low-pressure cell and will move through the monsoon trough that lie across over the North and the Northeast of Thailand during 30 - 31 Aug.

Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Lampang, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Tak, and Mae Hong Son. Minimum temperature 22-25 °C, maximum temperature 32-36 °C. Variable winds at 10-20 km/hr.
Northeastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers with gusty wind and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Mukdahan, Bueng Kan, Nong Khai, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Loei, and Nakhon Ratchasima. Minimum temperature 22-25 °C, maximum temperature 27-32 °C. Variable winds at 15-30 km/hr.
Central
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 34-36 °C Westerly winds 10-20 km/hr.
Eastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-26 °C Maximum temperature 29-34 °C Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Chumphon, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 33-35 °C Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters, offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang. Minimum temperature 23-24 °C Maximum temperature 30-33 °C Phuket upward : Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers. Krabi downward : Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Scattered thundershowers. Minimum temperature 25-27 °C Maximum temperature 34-36 °C Westerly winds 10-20 km/hr.
