General Situation
16 December 2025The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea with isolated heavy rains in the lower South. People should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to be 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore until 16 December 2025. The high-pressure system still covers the upper country and the South China Sea with cool weather and morning fog. People in the upper country should keep healthy due to cold weather and beware of travel pass the foggy area.

From Surat Thani upward : Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower. From Nakhon Si Thammarat downward : Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershower.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 31-33 °C. From Phuket upward : Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters in thundershower From Krabi downward : Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters, above 2 meters in thundershower and offshore.
