General Situation
17 March 2026The weak high-pressure system from China covering the upper Northeast and the South China Sea while southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the Gulf and the South China Sea to the upper Thailand. Hot weather during the day is forecast in the upper country with isolated thundershowers in the North, the Central, and the East. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions and keep healthy due to hot weather. The easterly wind prevails over the Gulf, the South, and the Andaman Sea with isolated thundershowers in the South. The winds and waves in the lower Gulf are expected 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep away from thundershowers.

Isolated thundershowers mostly in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat Minimum temperature 21-24 °C. Maximum temperature 33-36 °C. Chumphon upwards : Southeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters in thundershowers. Surat Thani downwards : Southeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr.
