During 17 – 23 Sep 2025During 17 – 20 Sep, the monsoon trough lies across the lower North, the Cental and the lower Northeast move toward a strong low-pressure over the central South China Sea while the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with continuous rainfall and isolated heavy rains. During 21 – 23 Sep, the monsoon trough will move up to lie across the North, the upper Cental and the Northeast with more rain and isolated very rain in the North and the Northeast while less rain is likely in the South. The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely about 2 meters high, 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addtion, tropical depression over the Phillippines is likely to move to the South China Sea, then intensify to tropical storm. This storm is expected to make landfall over the east of the South China during 19 – 20 Sep and not approaching Thailand.
Caution
During 17 – 20 Sep, people in Thailand should beware of heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. During 21 – 23 Sep, people in the North, the upper Central and the Northeast should beware of heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
