Weather Outlook During 29 Aug – 4 Sep 2025During 30 – 31 Aug, tropical depression over the upper South China Sea will intensify to tropical storm, is expected to make landfall over upper Vietnam on afternoon, 30 Aug. It is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and will move to upper Laos at night, 30 Aug after that it is forecast to downgrade to an active low-pressure cell and will move through the monsoon trough that lie across over the North and the Northeast of Thailand during 30 - 31 Aug. Isolated heavy rains are likely in Thailand and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South(west coast) regions. During 1 – 4 Sep, the monsoon trough will lie across the North, the upper Central and the Northeast while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Continuous rainfalls are likely in the country and isolated very heavy rains are possible in the East and the South(west coast) regions. During 29 – 30 Aug, the moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely about 2 meters high, 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 31 Aug – 4 Sep, the strengthening wind force the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are likely 2 – 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, tropical depression over the upper South China Sea will intensify to tropical storm, is expected to make landfall over upper Vietnam on afternoon, 30 Aug. It is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and an active low-pressure cell, respectively. The travelers should check the weather conditions before traveling.
Caution
During 30 Aug – 4 Sep, people in Thailand especially in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South(west coast) should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
During 31 Aug – 4 Sep, all ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf keep ashore.
