12 February 2024 - 18 February 2024The rather strong high-pressure area covered upper Thailand at the beginning of the week then it weakened. Meanwhile, the southerly and southeasterly winds prevailed over the northeastern, central including Bangkok and its vicinity and eastern parts in the second half of the week. Furthermore, the westerly trough from Myanmar moved to cover the northern part at the end of the week. These conditions caused cool weather in most areas of upper Thailand almost the entire week with cold weather in the northern and northeastern parts. Rainfall was observed in upper Thailand in the second half of the week. In southern part, the rather active northeastern monsoon prevailed over the lower Gulf of Thailand and the southern part in the first half of the week then it weakened associated with the easterly and southeasterly winds prevailed over the Gulf of Thailand and the southern part in the second half of the week causing rainfall mainly in the east coast.
