General Situation
12 December 2024The another rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Laos and the South China Sea. It is expected to cover the upper Northeast by today (12 Dec). Isolated rains are likely in the upper country for the first period then a decrease in temperature and strong wind. Morning cool is likely in the North and the Northeast regions. On mountaintops of the North, cold to very cold and isolated frost are forecast while cold is forecast on mountaintops of the Northeast. People in the areas should keep healthy due to changable weather and be caution due to poor visibility. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is strengthening while the low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move pass the lower gulf and the lower South with more rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the South. People in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands. The moderate to rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers while about 2 metrers high in the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore.

Minimum temperature 22-24 °C. Maximum temperature 26-32 °C. Nakhon Si Thammarat upward : Northeasterly winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Songkhla downward : Northeasterly winds 20-40 km./hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C. Maximum temperature 28-31 °C. Easterly winds 15-30 km./hr. Wave below 1 meter, above 1 meter offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
