General Situation
20 October 2024The monsoon trough lies across the upper South with the low-pressure cell. At the same time, the high-pressure system from China extend to the upper Laos and the upper South China Sea, is expected to cover the upper Northeast by tonight. This leads easterly and the southeasterly winds with moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. Thundershowers with gust are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are likely in the lower North and the lower Northeast while isolated very heavy rains are likely in the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and keep healthy due to the changeable weather. The moderate winds force the waves in the Andaman Sea up to 1-2 meters high while the wave in the Gulf are likely about 1 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.

Maximum temperature 31-33 °C. Easterly winds 15-30 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C. Maximum temperature 31-33 °C. Prachuap Khiri Khan upwards : Variable winds 15-30 km./hr. Chumphon downwards : Southwesterly winds 15-30 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature 23-24 °C. Maximum temperature 29-32 °C. Phuket upwards : Southwesterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. Krabi downwards : Southwesterly winds 15-30 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meter and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
