General Situation
25 August 2025The monsoon trough lies across the North and the upper Norhtheast while the strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are in the upper North, the upper Northeast, the East and the South (west coast) regions. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore. People along the coast of the East and the upper South west coast should beware of storm surge. In addition, Typhoon “KAJIKI” over the Tonkin Bay is expected to make landfall over upper Vinh, Vietnam by today (25 August). It will downgrade to tropical storm and tropical depression respectively and move to cover Laos and the Northeast by morning 26 August. Finally, it will downgrade to an active low-pressure cell and cover Nan, Thailand by afternoon 26 August, causing isolated heavy to very heavy rain and strong winds over the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand during 25–27 August 2025.

Fairly widespread thundershowers with strong wind and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Lampang, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun. Minimum temperature 22–24 °C, maximum temperature 30–33 °C. Variable winds at 15–30 km/hr.
Northeastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers with strong wind and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 22-24 °C, maximum temperature 27-32 °C. Variable winds at 15–35 km/hr.
Central
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 33-34 °C Southwesterl winds 10-20 km/hr.
Eastern
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-26 °C Maximum temperature 29-33 °C Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Chumphon. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 32-34 °C Surat Thani upward : Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters, above 2 meters in thundershowers and offshore. Nakhon Si Thammarat downward : Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter, 1-2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C Maximum temperature 29-32 °C Phang Nga upward : Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers. Phuket downward : Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain. Minimum temperature 25-26 °C Maximum temperature 31-33 °C Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.
