Subject: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Thailand
(Effect during 23-27 May 2025)

During 23-27 May 2025, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen while the monsoon through will lie across upper Thailand and the upper South region. More rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Thailand. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands, and should keep healthy due to the variable weather. Farmers should prevent crop damage by improving drainage systems in agricultural plots to reduce damage to crops and livestock.
Affected areas are as followings:
23 May 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit,
Tak, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon,
Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket
and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi
including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung,
Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

The strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to about 2 meters high while 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
This advisory is in effect on 22 May 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
