Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
(Effect during 13-14 April 2025)

During 13-14 April 2025, the moderate high-pressure system from China extend to the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea leads the easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike in the upper country and isolated heavy rains are likely in the North and the East regions.
Affected areas are as followings
On 13 April 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phayao, Phitsanulok, and Phichit.
Northeast: Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi, Suphanburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 14 April 2025
North: Mae Hong Son and Tak.
Central: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon
and Nakhon Prathom.
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of heavy rains and severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Avoiding travelling pass the recurring flooding areas such as Mueang District Khon Kaen Province, Si Racha District and Pattaya Gty, Chonburi Province, Pluak Daeng and Mueang District, Rayong Province including Bangkok and its vicinity. All transports take more caution during the phenomena. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and animals’ danger.
This advisory is in effect on 13 April 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
