Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 1 (52/2024)
During 8-10February 2024, the high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea. Meanwhile, the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreak of summer storms, gusty winds and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
The advisory is in effect on 6 March 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
