Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand

No. 11 (78/2024)

The high-pressure system which covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea is weakening while the westerly trough will move to the Myanmar and the upper North of Thailand where hot to very hot weather occurs in the upper country. Outbreak of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike in the North. People in the North should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.

Affected areas are as followings:

On 11 April 2024

North:               Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan,

                        Phrae and Tak.

The final advisory is in effect on 11 April 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
