Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 2 (53/2024)
The high-pressure system from China extend to southern China, is expected to cover the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea by tomorrow (8 Mar 2024). Meanwhile, the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs. During 8-10 Mar 2024, outbreak of summer storms, gusty winds and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions. People in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 8 March 2024
Northeast: Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
East: Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Rayong and Chanthaburi.
On 9 March 2024
North: Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao and Chonburi.
Central: Lopburi, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its victicity.
On 10 March 2024
North: Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen.
The advisory is in effect on 7 March 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be on 7 March 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
