Subject: Summer Storm in upper Thailand
No. 4 (71/2024)
During 8–11 April 2024,
the high-pressure system from China will extend to cover the upper Thailand and
the South China Sea
while there is hot to very hot
weather in the upper country.
Meanwhile, during 9 – 11 April the westerly trough will move to the
Myanmar and the upper North of Thailand. Outbreak of summer storms are possible
following with thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike
are expected in the Northeast at first, then will effect on the rest regions. People
in the upper country should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor
places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 8 April 2024
Northeast: Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon,
Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
On 9 April 2024
North: Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok,
Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum,
Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram,
Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Pathom,
Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its victicity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 10 April 2024
North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit,
Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei and Chaiyaphum.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,

On 11 April 2024
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao,
Nan, Phrae and Tak.
The advisory is in effect on 8 April 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
This next issue will be on 8 April 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
