Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
(Effect during 26 April – 1 May 2025)

During 26 Apr – 1 May 2025, the moderate high-pressure system from China extend to cover Vietnam and the South China Sea leads the confluence of southeasterly and southwesterly winds prevail over the upper country while there are hot to very hot weather. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following with thunderstorms, gusty wind, hails including lightning strike in the upper country and heavy rains in some areas.
Affected areas are as followings
On 26 April 2025
Northeast: Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani
Central: Lopburi, Saraburi including Bangkok and its vicinity .
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On 27 April 2025
North: Tak, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon,
Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
During 28 – 29 April 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,
Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong and Kanchanaburi.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.
During 30 April – 1 May 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat and Lopburi.
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of heavy rains and severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards. Avoiding travelling pass the recurring flooding areas. All transports take more caution during the phenomena. Farmers should prevent for crop damage and animals’ danger.
This advisory is in effect on 24 April 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
