Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
And heavy rains in the South
(Effect during 9-12 May 2025)

During 9-12 May 2025, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to Vietnam and the South China Sea. The southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper Thailand. where hot to very hot weather occurs. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strikes are likely in some areas of the Northeast at first then the rest regions.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani.

North: Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun.

People in the upper country should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of severe conditions by keeping outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards and farmers should prevent crops damage and animals’ danger.
The southwesterly wind prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the South will strengthen with more rains and isolated heavy rains in the South during 10-12 May 2025. People in the South should beware of heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea up to 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
