Subject: Variable Weather in Upper Country
and Heavy to Very Heavy Rains in South
No. 6 (338/2022)
The moderate high-pressure from China over Laos will extend to upper Thailand and the rest regions. From 1 to 4 Dec, thundershowers are forecast first in the upper country and a decrease in temperatures will follow by 3–5 °C in the Northeast and then 1–3 °C in the North, the Central and the East regions. People should keep healthy due to variable weathers.
Affected areas are as followings:
2 December 2022
South: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
3-4 December 2022
South: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
In addition, the low-pressure cell in the lower South China Sea will move to the coast of the lower South and Malaysia on 2 and 3 Dec. Thereafter on 4 and 5 Dec, it will pass the South into the Andaman Sea with more rains. Isolated heavy to very rains are also possible. People should beware of the severe condition that may causes flash flood and overflows, especially along the foothills near the waterways and lowlands.
On 3 and 4 Dec, the strengthening wind forces the waves 2-3 meters high in the lower Gulf, above 3 meters high in thundershowers. The waves in the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea 1-2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution and small boat keep ashore.
